2017 SWIM SEASON AND PARTY

Dear Swim Parents,

PARTY
Remember the party is tonight! Bring your suits, your family, and your game face as we will have the Wibit in and access to the Flow Rider after the Flow Tour is done. Don't forget to bring your food item(s) if you signed up. 7:30-9:30pm.

Some parents expressed interest in buying our awesome swim team shirts. We will have a sign up for those interested in purchasing one at the party. They will be $8.

Quick reminder: Swim Team Swimmers and parents have been invited to be in the Lindon Days Grand Parade! Information on the blog here >>  http://lindonswimteam.blogspot.com/2016/08/lindon-days-grand-parade.html

2017 SWIM  SEASON
In preparation of the 2017 Swim Season, there are a few things that would help improve our home swim meets efficiency. We are in need of a computer and a timing system that will reduce a lot of unnecessary busy work. This will cost the Lindon Swim Team about an estimated $3,700. Our first priority is to get a lap top (we could get a good one for $500-600) and then work up to raising enough money for the Dolphin Timing System.

In order for this to happen, we are in need of donations. This could also be a great opportunity for those businesses looking for some tax write offs. We will have a table set up tomorrow at the party. If your unable to attend and would like to donate, or have any questions, please contact Tiffani Nukaya at 801-787-8636. You may make a cash, check, or card donation. Just be sure to specify what you want your donation to go to.

Thank you so much for your support and your donations.

Sincerely,
The Coaches

SILVER AND GOLD MEET INFO

Parents and Swimmers,

This is a reminder for the Silver and Gold Meet - You should have already signed your swimmer up if they plan on attending. Entry lists are attached below. Spanish Fork's pool is outdoors so come prepared. It's supposed to be a hot one!

Spanish Fork Pool Address: 199 N 300 W - The pool is located on 200 N. next to the High School.

The Silver Meet is tomorrow, Friday, July 29th @ Spanish Fork Pool - Warm up: 7:30-8am. Start: 8am.

The Gold Meet is Saturday, July 30th @ Spanish Fork Pool - Warm up: 7:30-8am. Start: 8am.

Don't be late - try to come 10 minutes before to check in with coaches and get settled :)

STILL IN NEED OF...
We are still in need of parents to time and judge at ALL of our meets! If we do not fulfill this requirement, we won't be allowed to participate in the meet! We have enough timers for Silver, but we are in need of two more timers for Gold. For judges, we are still in need of two for both Silver and Gold. If we get more, we can do a rotation between the Lindon parents. We need you! Try to make arrangements so you can make this possible. Please sign up!

During the meet
Please pay attention to the bullpen so you know when your event is in the bullpen getting ready to go to the blocks.

Come prepared with sunscreen, food, water, games, chairs, and such to keep you entertained through the meet.

Please do not write on your swimmers backs with anything like "Eat my bubbles" or anything else that could be interpreted as bad sportsmanship. If so, swimmers will be asked to remove the writing in order to compete. Designs and positive quotes are fine.

Check Ins
Please come check in with the coaches when you arrive to get your numbers.

Relays
We will put our relays together there with a swim card. If you signed up for a relay or are interested in participating in a relay, please come talk to the coaches as soon as warm ups are over and at check ins.

IMPORTANT INFO FOR ALL

Hi There!

I apologize for all the emails/posts, I just keep getting questions and want to make sure everyone is aware of the following items.

COUNTY MEETS
Please do not write on your swimmers backs with anything like "Eat my bubbles" or anything else that could be interpreted as bad sportsmanship. If so, swimmers will be asked to remove the writing in order to compete. Designs and positive quotes are fine.

Check the Gold and Silver entry sheets I sent out to make sure your swimmer's events are correct. If you have not signed up yet and want to attend, please email me ASAP.

PRACTICE
There will be no practice on Wednesday and Friday. We will be at the Bronze and Silver Meets those days. We will be holding practice on Thursday for any who would like to attend, especially those going to Silver and Gold.

ADULT SWIM CLASS
Here is the link to register for the adult swim class for those interested. Let me know if it doesn't work or not >> https://www.activityreg.com/selectactivity_t1.wcs

DOUBLE CHECK VOLUNTEER HOURS
Something got messed up the Google Doc we have to keep track of volunteer hours. Not sure what happened, but some of the hours reported were shifted around somehow so some are not under the correct name. Please double check your hours and be honest if yours are off.

Here is the Google doc for hours reported >>

If you have not reported your hours, please do so.

Short on hours? You can make a donation to the swim team, provide food for the end of season party, and help plan/carry out the party. However, we'd prefer if you volunteered to time/judge at the county meets because we are still in need of parents to time and judge at ALL of our meets!

If we do not provide at least two timers and two judges, we won't be allowed to participate in the meet! We need at least two timers and two judges. If we get more, we can do a rotation between the Lindon parents. We need you! Try to make arrangements so you can make this possible. Please sign up!

Best,

Coach Kristi

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Hi there!
First and foremost please sign up for County Meets if you have not yet done so! We need entries ASAP! Please double check your entries to make sure the right swimmer has been marked. Please do this on a computer not a phone. Let us know if there any problems.

VOLUNTEER HOURS
Below is a document of the hours that have been reported. I know we are missing a lot of hours for many of you on this document. Please email me and let me know your hours you've volunteered. These volunteer hours, as stated in the parent packet, (4.5 hours per swimmer - with 12 hour cap) are required for you and your swimmer(s) to be able to attend the end of the season party. We still want you all to attend so if you are not close to meeting the hour requirement you can volunteer as a timer or stroke judge at the county meets, bring food to the end of the season party, help plan and carryout games at the party, and donate to the swim team fund. Donations are going toward raising money to purchase a computer for swim team so we can run our home meets more efficiently.

ADULT SWIM CLASS

Hi there!
I've had a few parents express interest in doing an adult swim class to learn/improve their strokes and get in a good workout. It is for all levels so don't be intimidated to come!

We will begin August 1st. There will be two options for sessions.

Session One: Monday, Wednesday, Friday - 8-9AM - Last day Aug 19th
Session Two: Tuesday, Thursday -  8-9AM - Last day Aug 18th

If too many people can't make it during that time, we can change one of the sessions to a different time or something like that :)

The cost for Session One will be $35 for resident and $43 for non-resident.
The cost for Session Two will be $30 for resident and $38 for non-resident.

If you'd like to go all in every day, we can figure out a cost too.

You can sign up in person at the pool and online.

So whether you are a longtime swimmer yourself or just looking to learn more and get a good work out in, sign up!

Picture below to share with friends.

Best,

Coach Kristi

COUNTY MEET SIGN UPS

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE POST :)

Hello All,

Here is some information regarding the county meets for next week. Here are 2 separate google doc links.

Qualifications: Indicates which county meet the swimmers qualify for based on their event times.

QUALIFICATION DOC >>

Sign-up: There are separate tabs on this link for the Bronze, Silver, and Gold meet. Make sure that you are in the right tab located in the bottom left corner of the document. Probably don't sign up on a phone to make sure you don't mess up any entries.

----

Entries for County Meets are due by FRIDAY JULY 22nd. Please submit your entries sooner than later. Entries are done using a meet software so there is little we can do last minute to add swimmers. PLEASE BE ON TOP OF THIS! We want all our swimmers who can to attend. We will double check entries to make sure you are in the correct meet.

Also, I just clarified with our head of the league, she said that "it is 2 out of 3 times that determines which meet you go to." So as an example, if your swimmer has two times in silver, one time in bronze, and one time in gold - your swimmer has two options. Swim in Silver or swim in Gold. Swimmers may always swim up. The head of the league said she will move swimmers if they are in the wrong meet based on this rule, so please make sure your swimmer is signed up for the correct meet. Sorry if this is an inconvenience. If you have any questions, please email me.

----

County Meet Dates:

Bronze
Wednesday, July 27th @ Springville Pool - Warm up: 3:30pm-4pm. Start: 4pm

Silver

Set up and Take down ParentsThese individuals are in charge of helping set up the swim meet with tables and such. These individuals are also in charge of putting everything away after a meet and general clean-up of the pool deck.  Check for lost and found items.  This is a perfect job for those with several swimmers in the family.
**If a few of you would be willing to come Friday night, we could use some help getting as much set up before Saturday morning - just to make things go smoother. If you can come Friday evening, please email me. If not, we will still need your help Saturday morning.
**Arrive at 6:00am to help set up. Many hands make light work :) ***Set up parents - we will be setting up Friday evening at 9 PM and finishing set up Saturday morning. Please let me know if you can come to the Friday evening set up.
