Swim Team Party Details

The Swim Team Party is August 2nd from 6-8pm at the Lindon Pool. All swim team members and their immediate families whose parents have fulfilled their volunteer hours are invited to come swim and have dinner for free. Pizza will be served and there will be cotton candy, potluck salads, and dessert as well. Only Swim Team members will be able to ride the flow rider for free at this party. Anyone else will have to pay the regular flow rider fee. Please remember that only swim team members and their IMMEDIATE FAMILY are invited. If you have not signed up to bring anything, please bring either a leaf salad or fruit.

Swim Team members whose parents have not fulfilled their volunteering requirements can still come to the party with their immediate families, however there will be an admission fee. For anyone who still needs to volunteer, there are plenty of ways to volunteer including clean-up after the swim team party, and helping swim team members and their families check in at the party.

Those who ordered T-shirts, we will be handing them out at the party. They are $7 each. We will have the names of those who ordered the shirts on a list, however it would be a good idea to bring a print-out of the e-mail you sent us when you ordered your shirt just in case we missed your e-mail. The county meet awards and the Payson Meet ribbons will be handed out at the party while everyone is eating, between 6 and 6:30pm.

IMPORTANT - Riverside Meets Information

Dear Parents and Swimmers;

We are so excited to welcome you to our newly renovated pool and facilities at Riverside Country Club.  We appreciate your patience as we work to make your experience a good one. To help with this, please be aware of the following:

1Parking will be limited.  As much as possible, please carpool.  There will be parking attendants at the entrance of our parking lot. Once the lot is full, you will be directed to park either on the street a block east of University Avenue (140 E.) or to BYU Lot 54 (which is on the south/east corner of 2230 N. and University Avenue- behind an empty building).  We will have a shuttle bringing people from that lot to the pool.  You are welcome to drop off your swimmers right outside the pool area and then go park.  Please DO NOT park on University Avenue or you will be ticketed.

2) For your convenience, we will have food services available at our Chalet (directly south of the pool deck), where meals can be purchased for between $4-6 and individual items from $1-3.  We hope that by having affordable meals available at the pool, it would help with the coming and going from the parking lot.

3) We will have designated areas for seating on the deck, as well as food service areas, and the grassy patio south/west of the pool.  Please stay in these areas and off of the golf course. There will be a STANDING ONLYobservation area on the north side of the pool for you to come watch your swimmers’ event.  Please do not sit in this area so we can allow parents to watch up closer during their child’s event.

4) Our baby/wading pool is CLOSED during the meet.  Please help us keep these areas clear.

Thank you,
Christine Whatcott- Aquatics Director

Please come on time at 6:30am and check in with the coaches.

Parking is very limited. I strongly suggest carpooling if you can. There will be some parking available at the Riverside Country Club. Bronze Meet 2012

The Bronze Meet is this Wednesday at the Lindon Aquatic Center. Warm-ups are at 2:00pm. All teams north of Provo (including Lindon) will have the pool for warm-ups from 2:00-2:30pm. All teams south of Provo (that's NOT us, so if you're late, you miss warm-ups) will have the pool for warm-ups from 2:30pm-3:00pm. The Meet starts at 3:00pm. Please come on time at 2:00pm and check in with the coaches.

Please car pool if you can. The parking for this meet will be very limited. Parking is available at the community center, the lot across from the pool, the gravel parking area by the arena at the park, and at the Lindon City Park parking lot below the pool. Do not park in the parking lot at the pool. The pool will still be open so that parking lot is reserved for paying customers.

Swim Team Members are NOT ALLOWED to swim in any pool except the competition pool during the meet. If they would like to swim in the lazy river or leisure pool during the meet, they must pay the pool admittance fee.

We NEED you! We really need many more parent volunteers for this meet. Please sign-up to volunteer if you are available. If we don't have enough parent volunteers for this meet it will show the county that we are still struggling to get parent volunteers and they may bring up kicking us off of the swim league again. No team wants to swim with another team who cannot run their own swim meets effeciently.

E-mail us or lindonswimteam.volunteer@gmail.com to sign-up.

Meet Entries Sent

The entries for the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Meets have now been sent. If any late meet entries are sent to me, they will not be accepted.

Thank you,

Saren Johnson

LAST CALL

I am entering in all the meet entries for the Gold, Silver, and Bronze Meets now (11:30am). This is your last chance to sign up for the county meet.

To sign-up, e-mail me with your Child's Name, Age, Gender, What Meet they qualify for, and the Event Numbers that they would like to swim. You can find a list of event numbers in the back of your parent packet. The Meet standard times can be found in the e-mail I last sent, titled "PARENTS PLEASE READ!!!".

There is no IM standard times for Silver or Bronze because if your child doesn't make the Gold IM time, they automatically qualify for Silver. There are no IM's at the Bronze Meet. In the time standards I sent you, the silver and bronze are the same time. The difference is that silver is faster than....and bronze is slower than. For example, if your child has a time of 40 seconds and the silver/bronze standard time shows 45 seconds, since it is faster than 45, they would go to silver.

County Meet Sign-Ups

Due to technical difficulties, we are doing sign-ups for the county meets a little differently this year. We've sent an e-mail with an attached a list of everyone's best times, and the bronze, silver, and gold time standards.
If you have not received this e-mail, please e-mail us at lindonswimteam@gmail.com so we can send it to you.

We need each parent (including all parents who have previously e-mailed us) to look at their child's best times and compare them to the time standards we've also attached. The Time Standards have changed since the season started. The standards in the back of the parent packet are no longer valid. There are three different time standards attached in the e-mail: Gold, Silver, and Bronze. If your child's times are slower than the Gold Time Standards, then check the Silver Time Standards. If they're slower than the Silver Time Standards, they go to Bronze. Any child who meets the county qualifications, who has a time that isn't silver or gold, goes to the bronze meet. All 6 and Unders go to the Bronze Meet. All 15-18 year old's go to the Gold Meet.

Submit an entry by e-mailing us with your Child's Name, Age, Gender, what Meet they're going to, and the Event Numbers that they would like to swim. You can find a list of event numbers in the back of your parent packet.

Please submit a county meet entry by e-mailing us with "County Meet Entry" as the title. If you e-mail us by hitting the reply button, make sure it is to this e-mail, not to any other team e-mails that have been previously sent, or it may get lost.

If you do not e-mail us your child's county meet entries, your child will NOT BE SIGNED UP for a county meet. The due date for County Entries is 11:00am on Monday, July 23. There are NO LATE ENTRIES. This is different than a dual meet. There will be no exceptions. If you miss the deadline, there is nothing we can do.

In order to compete at a County Meet (Bronze, Silver, or Gold), your child must have 1 legal time per event that they would like to swim and also have swam at  2 meets. You may only swim down one event. So if you have 2 silver times and a bronze time, you can either swim all 3 events at silver or 1 bronze time and 1 silver time at the bronze meet. If you have 2 gold times and a silver time, you can either swim all 3 events at gold or 1 silver time and 1 gold time at the silver meet.  If your child makes a B time in an event, they cannot swim in that event at the bronze meet.

*Please note that the different County Meets are not so swim team members can just go to which ever Meet is most convenient.
