Swim Meet - Bring Bottled Water

As it is a possibility that the drinking water issue may not be resolved by tomorrow, I highly recommend bringing water bottles, juice, Gatorade, etc... for your swimmers so that they do not get dehydrated at the swim meet. Make sure you bring some shade for your swimmers, as the high for tomorrow is in the 100's and they will not be allowed in the pool except during warm-ups and their race events.

June 29 - Swim Meet (Lindon vs Lehi)

We are so excited for our home swim meet of the season! It should be a great experience for everyone. It is this Saturday at the Lindon Pool. Warm-ups are at 6:30 am and the Meet starts at 7:00 am. It should last about 5 hours.

Swimmers NEED to show up at warm-up time so that they can pick up their event cards (a parent volunteer will be handing them out at the volunteer check in table), check in with the coaches, and then get in the pool and warm-up for their races.

Swim Meet Sign-ups

We will have swim meet sign-ups this Tuesday for the Swim Meet at Spanish Fork on Saturday, June 22.

Event entries are done the Tuesday or Wednesday prior to each swim meet. You are welcome to come to the beginning of practice and sign the swimmer up yourself. They will need 1 entry card for each event that they are swimming.
A swimmer may swim up to 3 individual events, and 2 relays. We strongly encourage each swimmer to swim at least 2 events. If there is uncertainty as to whether a swimmer is ready for a certain event, please contact their coach. If you are unable to attend a meet that you signed up for, PLEASE notify your coach.

RELAYS

On Meet Sign-up days, there will be a paper that swimmers can write their names on if they are interested in swimming a relay. The Coaches will put the teams together at their own discretion. When a relay team is made, each participant will receive an e-mail. Swimmers need to keep in mind that if they have signed up for a relay, they are making a commitment to be at that meet. If they do not show up or leave too early, they are disappointing 3 other swimmers and will be given lower priority for relay participation in upcoming meets.

Volunteering

There will be volunteer sign-up sheets at practice each day. To find out more about how and when you can volunteer to fulfill your volunteering hours, you can e-mail our volunteer coordinators Scott, Saori, Chris, and Beverly at lindonswimteam.volunteer@gmail.com.

First Day of Practice - What to Expect

The first day of practice will be June 3rd. Advanced hour is from 7:30am-8:30am, Intermediate is 8:30am-9:30am and Beginning is 9:30-10:15am. Swimmers will need to be ready and waiting by the bleachers 5 min before their hour starts. Swimmers should come to practice prepared (suit, goggles, towel, cap for swim workout). We highly recommend that swimmers bring a personal water bottle to practice each day*. Team caps are available for purchase before and after practice. Team caps are $3 each; only cash will be accepted.

The first day practice will start with a getting-to-know-you activity, then a talk about swim team rules and expectations with the swimmers, and finish with a workout in the pool/lane placements. Lane placements will occur the entire week, as we try to find the optimal placement for each swimmer.

*To prevent against lost items, please be sure to mark all items clearly with the swimmer’s name.  The coaches and pool staff ARE NOT responsible for lost or stolen items.
